Happy 4th!

The Fourth of July is definitely one of our favorite holidays! Lots of fantastic food, drink, family and friends celebrating America's independence and the sacrafices our wonderful soldiers make for us every day!

Thank you so very much to our military soldiers and families for their service to our wonderful country! :O)

As you prepare for your bbq celebration, don't forget to add those special details... drink parasols.

To make them, you'll need wooden skewers that are a couple of inches longer than the glasses are tall. Color-photocopy the design onto white paper. (Or download and print this illustration here.) Cut out, then cut along dotted line on each. Create a broad cone by overlapping edges; secure using a glue stick or tape. Poke skewer through underside of cone's point.

Have fun making these drink parasols! We hope you have a safe and happy 4th!

mrs. brewington confidential : my unique guestbook

Ever question the cost of wedding accessories? How much does it really cost or take for a guest book and pen? Seriously?! Well look no further. For my wedding, my husband and I used the pictures from our engagement photo session to create the guest sign-in book. The folks at Blurb offer great ideas and free software to help you create any type of book imaginable. This made the book very personal to us and allowed our guests an opportunity to view moments from our engagement photo session. It now doubles as a photo album.

Try it for yourself... You'll love it!

Hope you enjoy!

... and the winner is???

The Association of Bridal Consultants Maryland Chapter Tabletop Design Competition was great! The venue was awesome {The Hotel Monaco Alexandria}. We'll tell you more about this fabulous hotel venue in a later posting. :O) We were truly excited about the of entrants in this years' competition - a total of 7 tables. Each table was different and unique.

Our table was amazing! It was f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s! The colors were vibrant... and design was stunning! :O) This was one of our most favorite tabletops we've designed thus far.

It was voting time... Our peers voted. We placed 3rd. We were hoping for way better results considering the "fabulosity" of our table design.
Oh well! The show must go on! :O) We're competing in another floral design competition in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned for details... We'll be sharing pictures of our complete table design at that time. In the meantime... Happy designing!
