parents dance | one special song selection

It’s time to dance-the-dance! We’re taking a look at the special parent dances. Not only do we find our couples often have a difficult time with selecting a song for their parent dances, they also think about the awkwardness of dancing with their parent for the entire 3-4 minute song which does seem like an eternity when all eyes are on you in the middle of the dance floor. Why not pick one special song that would suffice for both parent dances?

We suggest the Bride and her Father starting off the parents dance and having the Groom and his Mother join in about 1-2 minutes into the same song, depending on the length of the song. Dancing to the same parents’ song works extremely well and it gives everyone just the right amount of “special time” with their parents dancing in the spotlight.

Looking for an amazing parent’s song? We’ve got the right song picked out for you… We think the following 5 songs are absolutely wonderful parents dance songs that are truly special for both the Bride and Groom to dance to:

If I Could by Regina Belle

I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack
(other song versions also available by Carrie Underwood, Gladys Knight)

What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong

You are the Sunshine of My Life by Stevie Wonder

Blessed by Elton John

Are you sharing a special parents dance song with your Groom and his Mother? Do tell. We’d love to hear what you chose for your parents dance song selection.

Happy dancing!
